Barcode Solutions
Barcode, Scanning and Label Printing
Every barcode project is really two projects. One is the hardware on the warehouse floor — the scanners, the rugged handhelds, the label printers. The other is getting what those devices read into the system that actually runs the business: the ERP, the warehouse management system, the inventory module, the line-of-business application somebody wrote fifteen years ago.
Most suppliers do the first part and hand you a box. Argyle does both, because we write software in-house as well as selling hardware. That is the difference between a scanner that beeps and a scanner that updates your stock figure.
The Hardware
Argyle is a Zebra Technologies partner, and specifies, supplies, configures and supports the full range:
- Barcode scanners — corded and wireless, for the counter, the bench and the dock.
- Mobile computers — rugged handhelds built for cold stores, plant floors and vehicles rather than for pockets.
- Label printers — desktop units for the office, industrial printers for high-volume production, and mobile printers for pickers and drivers.
We configure devices before they arrive, so they join your network and talk to your software on day one instead of sitting in a cupboard waiting for someone to work them out.
Labels, Media and Consumables
- Label stock, thermal media and ribbons matched to the printer and the environment — freezer, outdoor, chemical exposure and abrasion all need different answers.
- Standing supply so a production line never stops for the want of a roll of labels.
- Managed alongside the Kyocera print and copier business, on one account and one invoice.
The Integration — Where Most Projects Fail
Scanning data is worthless until it lands in the right place. Argyle builds that connection rather than subcontracting it:
- Software integration — getting scanners, ERP, WMS, accounting and shop-floor systems talking to each other.
- Custom software — when the receiving, picking or stocktake process you actually run does not match anything off the shelf.
- Mobile applications — purpose-built screens for the handheld, rather than a desktop form squeezed onto a small display.
- Access database conversion — for the stock spreadsheet or Access file the warehouse has quietly depended on for a decade.
Where It Gets Used
- Warehouse and distribution — receiving, put-away, picking, despatch and cycle counting without a clipboard.
- Manufacturing — work-in-progress tracking, component traceability and shop-floor data capture.
- Inventory and asset tracking — tools, equipment and IT assets, with a record of who has what.
Scanning something today that still gets typed in later?
That gap is usually where the errors and the lost hours live. A free, no-obligation audit will show you what it would take to close it. Call 419-419-5737.
